Operation or physical treatment?

The most common diseases to perplex patient’s mind is hernia of waist and neck and prosthesis application at arthrolith. In hernia of waist and neck, there is a chance of 90 / 95 % success. The cases where operation is needed are 5-7 %. There are two operation criterion accepted in all around the world. The first one is muscular weakness detected by the physician. Weakness can occur due to nerves brimming (by herniating) through the spine into legs at waist and into arms at neck by putting pressure on the nerves. However, the first symptom of pressure on nerves is not weakness but pain. Majority of this pain can be cured by physical treatment and exercise programs. Muscular weakness appears at the further stages. When this weakness is determined by the physician and if it is progressing, surgical operation is necessary to save the nerve under pressure. More tragic type of this pressure occurs when hernia doesn’t put pressure on nerve beam but the spine itself. This case becomes apparent by urinary incontinence and it requires Emergency surgery. The second case that continues more than 3 months which is not resolved by surgical intervention is a case that reduces life quality with pain. Prosthesis applications at arthrolith are applied mainly at knee and hip joints and it is the last method to apply. If a patient is able to continue the daily life without assistance of others and has a walking distance not less than some hundred metersİ this person will benefit from physical treatment applications. If walking distance of the patient is less than some hundred meters, application of prosthesis will improve the life quality of this person. However, before and after this application, rehabilitation programs shall be applied.
